Position Objective
The position, under the auspices of Curriculum & Instruction and the supervision of the Training Manager, provides training of Ombudsman teachers and center directors according to procedural standards. The Training Specialist also assists with curriculum development and other projects related to curriculum and instruction, primarily during the off peak training months.
Qualifications
„XBachelor¡¦s degree and teaching experience with certification preferred „XAt least one year experience each as OES teacher and center director „XMinimum OES evaluation of ¡§Competent¡¨ in each two preceding years, or supervisor recommendation „XAdditional outside previous experience in teaching, training, coaching, leadership, and/or other related fields preferred
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
„XImplement training agendas for new teachers including the topics of OES philosophy, mission and history, Glasser¡¦s Choice Theory philosophy, the four- step educational process, goal setting, student intakes, attendance procedures and student management „XImplement training agendas presenting the educational program objectives, the mechanics of center record keeping, reporting, center maintenance, curriculum and technology and equipment maintenance „XComplete, at the conclusion of the training session, the center staff Orientation and Training Review for all new hire participants and provide results to the Training Manager, Director, Curriculum & Instruction, and Operations Managers „XFollow up with additional training, when appropriate, for all new teachers as necessary, as determined and agreed to by the Training Manager, Director, Curriculum & Instruction, and the Operation Managers „XImplement training agendas as above for new center directors including topics in staff management, timely completion of all center administrative paperwork/ reports and appropriate communications with parents and school district personnel „XCoordinate with Training Manager, Director, Curriculum & Instruction, and other members of the Center Operations team to provide effective and appropriate training for all staff in new centers, including follow up training „XProvide coaching and guidance for experienced center staff as determined to be necessary and agreed to by the Training Manager, Director, Curriculum & Instruction, and the Operations Managers „XCoordinate and assist in implementation of professional development materials for center and administrative staff in the format of summer workshops and staff in-service days „XCollect, input, and analyze data on training effectiveness through participant survey and Orientation and Training Review process „XCoordinate and assist in the creation and revision of new or current training and professional development materials as identified and required, with oversight from the Training Manager „XFacilitate the completion of new hire paperwork, as necessary „XAssist in curriculum development and other curriculum and instruction projects as assigned by the Director, Curriculum and Instruction.
Knowledge and Skills:
„XDemonstrated comprehensive knowledge, understanding, and implementation of the OES educational philosophies, services, policies, and procedures „XDemonstrated strong presence and interpersonal skills „XDemonstrated ability to communicate with diverse audiences through effective oral and written skills „XDemonstrated high degree of organizational skills including, but not limited to, the ability to multi-task, adjust to shifting and multiple priorities and meet multiple deadlines with consistency „XDemonstrated ability to achieve a high degree of accuracy in numerical collection and analysis „XDemonstrated ability with computer database systems and other systems software including, but not limited to, Nova NET, PLATO, TutorSystems, Microsoft Word, Filemaker Pro, Adobe, and Excel „XDemonstrated ability to develop presentations utilizing, but limited to, PowerPoint, graphics software, and e-learning resources. „XDemonstrated ability to work independently and be self motivated.
Physical Abilities and Working Conditions
„XSubstantial time is spent working on computers „XWork is performed in a normal office setting with minimal exposure to health or safety hazards „XRequires ability to travel outside the office on a daily, overnight or more extended basis as necessary „XMinimum age of 25 preferred (for automobile rental purposes)
