Dr. John McLaughlin has committed his professional life to ensuring that all children have access to education that meets their needs. A native of Alabama, he launched a high school for students with exceptionalities shortly after graduating from college. After a decade at the helm, he turned operations over to a local school board and became a professor. John became deeply interested in non-public education and began studying the rise of the education industry. In 1993, he launched the Education Industry Report, a newsletter that provided an index of publicly traded education providers, in addition to articles about the people, companies, legislation and transactions shaping the for-profit education industry. As the Chief Development Officer, he is responsible for new business development to ensure ESA continues its strong growth track.
